Reincarnation If you were born again, which country?
This is not a fortune. Population is World Bank; births are UN WPP 2024 medium-variant counts. The draw uses either today's births or today's population as the weight.

Region
The region filter changes the list and search only. The draw still uses worldwide birth and population weights.

Babies born worldwide since you opened this page ≈ 0
Each green dot ≈ 22,034 births a year. Gold sparks light up at the real birth rate (about 4.2 per second), placed by birth share. Globe pins sit on the country’s geographic center, not the capital.

Source: Population: World Bank WDI SP.POP.TOTL. Births: United Nations World Population Prospects 2024, medium variant (year 2024); territories without a WPP series keep World Bank population × crude birth rate / 1000. (WPP 2024 (births, 2024) · World Bank WDI (population, 2023–2024))
What these numbers are
Births mode is weighted by children being born now. Population mode is weighted by people alive now. Happiness and GDP do not change the odds.
Multiple lives are independent draws. Drawing the same country twice is allowed.
FAQ
How are the odds set?
Births mode uses UN WPP 2024 birth counts. Population mode uses World Bank population. A few territories missing from WPP keep a World Bank crude-birth-rate estimate. Happiness, GDP, and taste do not change the odds.
Can the same country appear twice?
Yes. Multiple lives are independent draws, so repeats are allowed and stored in order.
Is the globe pin the capital?
No. Pins sit on the country’s geographic center so large countries are not shown at a corner capital.
Does the region filter change the odds?
No. It only shortens the ranking and search. Reincarnate still draws with worldwide birth or population weights.
Where is history stored?
History stays in this browser’s local storage. A share link only carries country codes in the URL. There is no account.
Do the orbiting lights and falling balls change the odds?
No. The draw is finished the moment you press the button; the soul particles and the balls in the jar only show the country already drawn. Green dots on the globe are spread by birth share and blue dots by population share, so where dots crowd is where a draw is most likely to land. With reduced motion on, the result appears without the animation.
