The HEXACO model is a personality structure proposed by Michael Ashton and Kibeom Lee after analysing personality adjectives across many languages. It describes personality with six factors: Honesty-Humility (H), Emotionality (E), eXtraversion (X), Agreeableness (A), Conscientiousness (C) and Openness to Experience (O). This quiz is an abridged educational version with 10 items per factor, 60 in total, and its items are not the official HEXACO-PI-R items.
The factor the Big Five does not have. It looks at fairness, modesty about wealth and status, and a low sense of entitlement.
They resemble Big Five Neuroticism and Agreeableness but are grouped differently: patience with anger belongs to Agreeableness, while sentimentality and worry belong to Emotionality.
Some items are scored in reverse. Asking about the same idea in both directions helps reduce the pull to agree with everything.
The biggest difference is six factors instead of five, with Honesty-Humility as its own factor. The other factors have similar names but slightly different content.
No. The percentage shows where your answers sit relative to the maximum score for that factor. It is not a percentile compared with a norm group.
The HEXACO researchers provide research items and self-report versions on their official site, hexaco.org. For accurate comparisons, the official version is the better choice.
