Egogram Ego State Test

Diagnose your 5 ego states based on Transactional Analysis (TA)

Question 1 / 1010%
I tend to easily point out others' mistakes.

How much do you agree with each statement?

Draw the five voices inside you as a graph

The egogram is John Dusay’s 1970s way of drawing Eric Berne’s ego states — the core idea of Transactional Analysis (TA) — as a bar chart. It splits the Parent, Adult and Child ego states into five and shows which voices are loud and which are quiet right now.

Key ideas

Parent (CP · NP)

The Critical Parent stresses rules and duty; the Nurturing Parent cares and protects.

Adult (A)

The part that judges from facts and information rather than feelings.

Child (FC · AC)

The Free Child enjoys and plays freely; the Adapted Child fits in with others.

Frequently asked questions

Which shape is best?

There is no right shape. If one state is unusually high or low, use it to look at how that part shows up in your relationships.

Does the result change?

An egogram shows how your energy is spread right now, so it shifts with situations and phases of life.

Where is Transactional Analysis used?

In counselling, education and workplace communication, as a frame for spotting where conversations go wrong.

This result is a reference for understanding yourself. Do not use it as grounds for diagnosis, hiring or evaluation.
